How can I turn my passion into a solid business?

Well first things first: you have to step out of your comfort zone, do a personal audit and sharpen your self awareness. What makes you happy? Are you happy? What's your natural gift ( not your learned competence)? As you go down that road and start developing a business plan practice Patience (the law of gestation) + Passion (the law of action). Just those two. Work hard enough for long enough on that thing which you love so much it keeps you up at night, that thing that you are the undoubted master at. Your passion will bear fruit.Don't forget to add systems, structures and processes to your dream. A solid business is equal parts dream and straw man. Balance action and strategy and see it through.

I'm starting out in business. Just how necessary is a mentor for me?

Very. No man's an island. Don't go it alone when there are numerous people who are out there killing it like you would like to. People who can help you challenge yourself and prompt that paradigm shift that just isn't happening on your own. You need a business mentor to greatly boost your chances for success in business. We all need someone.

I've a great idea but what's the use - isn't the market already oversaturated?

In the information age I'm not even sure there's such a thing as a saturated market. Consumerism is as basic as breathing. Half the stuff people buy are in duplicates ( people crave variety) and totally unnecessary but as long as the internet is changing culture, people will look for all manner of ways to 'belong' and one way of doing that is through buying stuff. Your idea is your meal ticket. Just make sure it's solving a problem for a specific group of people and then communicate that well and often enough.

Just how important is the Internet and Social Media to my business?

Extremely. It doesn't matter your age or cultural leanings, if you want to engage your customers you need to be on at least 3 platforms and use them for what they are: tools of engagement. Get as many eyeballs on your product as possible and the most important rule: be authentic and real all the while.

My friends and I are transiting from the corporate world into entrepreneurship.
Where do we start?

Good question. There are 3 starting points that come to mind: one, take a breather.Don't just jump into it - you're getting into a totally different World and your mindset needs to be right. Two, get a mentor - a good one, a real one, someone who has been where you are and is where you want to be. Lastly, understand these two things ( like really well - it's ok to take as long as you must) : your self and your product.

So how relevant is formal education in today's World?

It's important. It's not absolutely necessary. Tonnes of brilliant people are changing the World ( and indeed have been doing so from time immemorial ) on an unfinished education. Intelligence isn't street smarts and in my book, doesn't hold up well to the later. That doesn't mean that you ditch school. All it means is that in this time and age more than ever, poor grades does not mean a zero chance at living the life of your dreams.

Can the BGS training program make me money?

Money is just ideas. Do you have ideas? Do you have the patience and passion to monetise them? BGS offers the tools and the support. The outcome of that engagement is in your mind and heart.

I'm shy around people. What sales alternatives exist for me?

The Internet offers a lot of solutions to camera shy people. Remember, people don't just buy products - people buy people. Your story needs to be heard so either way you need to get it out there - there's no running away from that. Blogging, podcast audios, self published books are some effective ways of telling your story without directly meeting your audience (for now).

Can I run a side hustle and a full-time job at the same time?

Yes you can. You can do what you please that's within the confines of the law and is not hurting anybody as long as you have peace of mind. The thing is some jobs and side hustles are so wide apart function wise that this may not be practical and again I honestly believe that an entrepreneur, a real one - has no side hustle...just THE HUSTLE.

But aren't passion and purpose the same thing in a way?

No. But one does lead into another...Purpose is really the reason you exist at all and finding that may take time BUT your passion on the other hand, can lead you to your ultimate purpose. Passion is that thing that keeps you up at night, write a book, resign from a six figure salary job to trek across the World or start a kick-ass business like BGS.
