The Present: You’ve been thinking about it.
Leaving the job.
Building something of your own.
Doing work that actually matters—to you, and to the people you passionately want to serve.
The Past: You’ve been loyal to your career.
You’ve led teams.
You’ve delivered results.
You’ve sat in strategy meetings where everyone nodded at the same slide deck. Year on year.
Now you're ready for something different. That something is more than the celebrated side hustle. That something is not a fantasy. It's an actual business. Your business.
And yet something still feels off. I mean - you’re smart and vastly experienced. You can list all the numerous courses you've done, webinars registered for and podcasts subscribed to but for some persistent nagging reason, deep down you know it: you’re stuck.
So what exactly is missing? Ambition? Ideas? Motivation? Inspiration? It's none of these.
It’s strategy. Strategy doesn’t just mean an academic business plan in some PDF. No.
It means having a clear and actionable personal roadmap for how you’ll move from salary to sales and from an employee mindset to a business owner reality. Every single day.
I've helped hundreds make this transition safely from employment to entrepreneurship.
And I’ve made it myself—though I was the guinea pig so mine wasn't as safe.
This Blog is the most important one I have written yet.
Print it. Screen-shot it. Copy-Paste it. Share it. It matters.
Here’s what I’ve learned in 7 Crucial Steps:
1). Your Strategy Starts With You
Let’s strip away the noise.
Before you chase clients or create content, you need to ask one question: What am I really building?
Not the product. Not the pitch. The life. Your strategy must start with your identity:
What kind of entrepreneur do you want to be?
How do you want your business to fit into your life—not take it over?
What are your strengths, and how do they translate into value?
A senior banking exec I coached wanted to start a fintech coaching platform. Brilliant guy. Knew the industry inside out. But he was chasing what looked shiny, not what aligned with who he was.
We stripped it down. Found his actual sweet spot and aligned it to current reality —helping SMEs structure financial processes using AI tools. Now with a workable strategy he is on track to have a database of paying clients, digital products, and speaking tours in within 6 months. Action.
How? He got clear on who he was solving for and how he could show up consistently.
That’s strategy.
2). The Employee Mind Can’t Run a Business
You are a 5-star employee: You know how to show up. Meet deadlines. Hit KPIs.
But newsflash: that won’t save you in business and here is why:
In employment, clarity is handed to you. In entrepreneurship, you must create it.
That mental shift to realise this is brutal if you’re not prepared. Hence this blog.
Strategy helps you create clarity by:
Defining your offer
Building your customer journey
Structuring your pricing and delivery
Creating systems for selling and scaling
Are you following me so far? I see too many professionals spending months on logo design, website tweaks, and brand colors. Again, none of that pays the bills.
You don’t need perfection.
You need traction and the only way to build traction is to move with intention.
3). AI Is Not Just a Buzzword—It’s a Tool
Modern entrepreneurs have something we oldies didn’t have ten years ago—AI.
But most of you are not using it well if we are to be totally honest.
It isn’t just about knowing what AI can do. It’s about knowing where it fits in your business.
Use AI to test content ideas before wasting money on ads.
Use it to outline customer personas, product descriptions, and proposals.
Automate your sales funnel follow-ups, appointment scheduling, and FAQs.
I see near-miracles in my coaching practice: one client used AI to write email sequences for her coaching business. Not blind use of AI but detailed and refined prompt-use of AI. This year she went from sending two emails a month to closing five new clients in 30 days.
She didn’t lose her voice—she gained her time.
I say it all the time: you either adopt AI or it adopts you.
AI isn’t here to replace you. It’s here to extend your reach.
If your strategy doesn’t include AI as a tool, you’re leaving time, energy and money on the table.
4). Your Marketing Funnel Is Your Lifeline
Let’s be honest.
Most people who leave employment have no real sales pipeline. They rely on luck, referrals, or DMs.
That’s not a business. That’s a gamble.
Out here in the entrepreneurship world you need an AIDAS funnel:
Awareness: Content that positions you as an expert
Interest: A lead magnet or free offer to collect emails
Desire: Nurturing emails or videos that show value
Action: A clear ask—a discovery call, a purchase, a download
Satisfaction: A way to meet customer need and keep them hooked
This isn’t theory. It’s what works. I know it from my 10 years+ in the corporate world and I know it from my 10 years+ running my own company.
A product designer I worked with during the COVID period had no funnel. Just random posts and prayer. Then she signed up for my R.O.A.D Business Strategy program.
We mapped a basic structure: LinkedIn content → lead magnet → free call → offer.
In 3 months, she had a repeatable way to attract and close clients—without selling in the DMs.
But more surprisingly she made money within the 2 months inside those 3 months.
Your funnel doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs to exist. It needs to bring you money.
5). Content Is Your Proof of Life
My sales gospel is: People don’t just buy products. They buy people.
They buy your backstory, your clarity, your thinking. That means you must show up—consistently.
Your Sales strategy must include a content engine that:
Shows your process
Answers common objections
Tells real stories aka testimonials
Articulates the ultimate client breakthrough
Content isn’t just for Instagram or Tik-Tok. It’s for trust. It’s how your audience sees your brain.
You don’t need to go viral. You need to be valuable.
Grow a quality following of a minimum 10,000 clients across a minimum of 4 social media platforms within 6 months by posting daily at a minimum rate of 3 posts a day BEFORE paying for boosted post-ads.
Visibility + Credibility = Profitability. Don't forget that formula.
6). Branding Is More Than Your Logo
Once more it's time we keep it real.
Your brand is not your colors. It’s your promise. It’s how people feel when they interact with you.
A business brand is something. A personal brand is everything!
Your personal branding strategy should define:
Your tone
Your values
Your story
Your unique lens on your industry
Don’t mimic. Don’t fake it. Don’t become another carbon copy consultant. Be YOU.
Become and live the brand that reflects you.
Personal Branding isn’t a task—it’s a result of a daily process.
And it grows stronger with every interaction - both online and offline.
7). The Numbers Must Make Sense
If your business isn’t structured to make money, it’s a hobby. Facts.
A feel good activity. Something to keep you busy and relevant.
But we honestly cannot live that way. Our business must be more than a busy-ness.
We can't be always BBB: Busy But Broke. We need to evolve.
Every serious entrepreneur understands that to sustain cashflow they must focus on:
How to get leads
How to convert them
What the product ladder looks like
What the monthly marketing and financial targets are
And they know money is simply about how well they: Track, Simplify and Repeat this process.
You’d be shocked how many people I meet who’ve been “in business” for a year and can’t tell me what their offer is leave alone what their target for the day, week, month or year is. They are sadly, flying blind and hoping against hope.
It's a dangerous financial and emotional gamble.
So, What's Next?
Not a 60-page report. Not a vision board. Not a meditation. Not affirmations. None of that.
Just 5 weeks. 5 sessions. 10 Templates. And 20 hours.
That's what it takes a mentor and a willing 'you' to create a simple, working roadmap that:
Aligns with your skills
Fits your life
Generates income
Is measurable and repeatable
Adapts with trends and tech
I’ve built this kind of plan dozens of times—for myself and for others. And I can tell you this:
The difference between a dream and a business is execution and Strategy makes execution possible.
If you are tired of all the motivational fluff floating around in the atmosphere and need a structured approach to a working business that actually makes business, work with me.
